Knowledge Mobilization: Education and Awareness

Through Education & Awareness Programs we educate, inspire, and drive change to collectively eradicate systemic and structural anti-Black racism, ableism, and sexism.

Using a “For us, by us” approach, we aim to critically shift cultural attitudes, behaviors and practices that perpetuate ableism, and anti-Black racism through campaigns that advance the social inclusion of full participation of Black people with disabilities in Canada, and build us as the leaders of this change!

Through educational training, social media awareness campaigns, national knowledge sharing platforms, community town halls, symposiums, events and more, we equip our community to

  • Broadened understanding of the diversity of disabilities and the importance of understanding intersectional identities and lived experiences

  • Expand knowledge and usage of accommodations, government and financial resources, and Black-focused supports.

  • Cultivate inclusive Black community spaces that challenge ableism, address stigma, and fully support the self-efficacy and advancement of Black people with disabilities.

  • Develop technical digital accessibility literacy skills, while enhancing self-advocacy and leadership skills.
